About the Storage Scale User Group
The Storage Scale User Group is open to everyone who uses, is interested in, or integrates IBM Storage Scale (still fondly known as GPFS). We are an independent, volunteer-run community with members across the world and a focus on the UK, USA and Australia. Our members come from media, academia, finance, research, automotive, defence, pharmaceutical and many other sectors. And yes, it is still ok to call it GPFS.
What we aim to do
Connect the people who run Storage Scale (and Storage Scale with Storage Protect / ILM) in one community.
Represent the needs of our members and feed them back to IBM.
Liaise with IBM and our members to help improve Storage Scale.
Provide a friendly, localised community for support and knowledge sharing.
Show what Storage Scale can do as a capable platform for AI, data and HPC workloads.
How the group works
We run as a web community with events held through the year, hosted by our members or by IBM. The group was established with the support of OCF and is run by volunteers from the community. It is a technical user group, not a sales and marketing channel for vendors.
This is not an IBM-run group. We work closely with colleagues at IBM to bring speakers and subject matter experts to our events, and several of our organisers are recognised by IBM as IBM Champions.
Get involved
